Rhodes Makes Universal Mobile Application Development Easy

Rhomobile recently launched an open source application framework which allows mobile application developers an easy way to build applications across multiple handsets (i.e. iPhone, BlackBerry, Nokia and Windows Mobile). The product is called Rhodes which enables developers to code in HTML but the end work can be converted into mobile applications unique to each mobile OS that fully leverages a device's native function such as GPS, Camera and etc...

I am not much of a programmer myself but the concept of Rhodes is very smart. It acts like a converter allowing companies the ability to rollout mobile applications across all handsets bypassing the hours required to learn various codes dedicated for each mobile OS. The fact that this product is available in an open source environment is a big plus.
